The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

Will You Believe

One night my two “Sons of Thunder” and I were grilling our dinner on the back deck.  A beautiful warm summer night they looked up  into the sky and asked, “Where does God live?”   I told them in the heavens above.  As we spoke I could tell that one of my sons didn’t really believe what I said.  He needed more proof.  Soon, as if on command the twinkling stars began to appear.  My son very excited exclaimed, “God really is here.  He’s putting the stars in the sky!”

A week after Thomas made his bold statement,  “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”  Jesus appeared again.  He came through an unopened door and spoke to them.  He called Thomas over and told him to touch His wounds.   Jesus gently told Thomas to stop doubting and to simply believe.

Are you waiting for Jesus to walk through the closed door of your life before you believe?  Do you really need to see the bloodstained scar on his side; the holes in His hands where nails were driven through?  Thomas did.  Is Thomas any different than some of us?  Jesus showed compassion to Thomas by not turning him away.  Jesus will show compassion to you… come to Him...allow Him to give you strength to believe, the desire to walk each day with Him, and the assurance to know that you have life in His Name!  (John 21:31)

Father, I need Your salvation, Your grace and Your peace.  Please forgive me of my sins and allow me to enter into a relationship with You.  Thank you,

In Jesus name Amen.
