God Walked With Me Tonight

 

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

 

Today had its up’s and downs.  A couple of things happened that placed worry and doubt in my mind and heart.  I just couldn’t seem to break away during the day to take time to pray.  I carried my burdens with me until this evening when I headed out the door for a walk.  I started praising God and thanking Him for my salvation through His Son Jesus Christ.

 

Then I began telling God about my day and all it held.  I could feel Him patiently and lovingly listen.  Suddenly, I looked up at the sky to see the most incredible sight.  The sun was setting behind a big, billowing cloud.  The light from the sun was so radiant that the cloud became perfectly white.  The sun’s golden rays where massive, flowing into the trees and lining the side of the street.  The sight took my breath away as God showed me I was in His presence.  Once again, I began praising and thanking my Heavenly Father.  As I turned the corner to head home, waiting there in front of me was a colorful, full rainbow.  God was showing me that His promises remain – He will never leave nor forsake His children.

 

Our God, Our Father, is the God of the Universe, the God of the nations and the Lord of our lives.  He not only governs the nations, but He longs to be in our lives.  Have you trusted Him as your Savior?  Are you allowing Him to be the Lord of your life, giving it all to Him?  There is nothing too big, too awful, or even too small that our God, our Father can’t handle.  Will you trust Him today?
